Chinese Restaurant Caught Bringing Road Kill Into Its Back Door

Just to let you all know I stopped eating at Chinese carry outs almost a decade ago after some cat heads were found behind a D.C. carryout. Yeah, cat heads and the owners couldn't produce the bodies of the cats.

Now this story broke via The Grio.

The Cabarrus County Health Department in North Carolina is investigating a Chinese restaurant after a woman saw someone loading roadkill into the back of a truck and bringing it to the restaurant.

"I just couldn't believe what I was seeing," 

said the unidentified women, who was shocked when she saw that the dead deer was being loaded into the back of the truck.

She said she was even more surprised when she saw the truck drive behind the restaurant China Fun.

“They were backed up to the restaurant door with that dead deer in that car they use for delivery," she said.

Police then called the health department, who investigated the matter.

"We went there and found, indeed, they had slaughtered a deer, or were cutting up a dead deer in the back of the parking lot and had already brought parts inside, into the sink," County Health Director William Pilkington said.

The owner of the restaurant says the road kill was for him not his customers. If that is true why didn't he have the road kill delivered to his home? Hmm..

The road kill never made on the menu so there was no cross contamination into what the customer's were ordering. But still, meat from the road going into any Chinese restaurant will send this blogger running for Panda Express.
